...so this is one part of the inefficiency of a L3 IXP  (never mind the cost!)

if you want to send me the particular communities that you think that the KRT node is originating that needs to be stripped, i can look into getting this done.  in general though, communities aren't necessarily bad at all.  the only community that could be posing a problem for you, would be "no-export" and since the peering model at the SIXP is to already have the IXP AS in the middle, you're already transiting an AS to get to this, so no-export can't be in use  ;-)

well, yes, as i mentioned earlier;  if you sell someone IP transit, you typically sell them reachability to as much of the internet as you know about.  partial IP transit can get ... quite messy.
