i think it’s fair to say that, at this stage of the game, that google 
is in a great position to collect data data about users.  (i noted the 
post from a gmail account;  you -have- read the terms and conditions of 
the account, haven’t you?  :-))

so is microsoft, and apple, and … well, the guy that sells you oranges 
from the corner cafe (…if he wanted to ..)
the advise about capturing packets is sound;  you should definitely try 
that.

personally, i would be upset at a change in my default operating 
settings (c/f the microphone incident).  so i think that’s wrong, and 
someone should get intro trouble for that.  but then, i don’t use 
chrome.. ;-)
